10 Things To Do In Savannah Georgia

,

Your guide to the charming city of Savannah! This city has beautiful architecture, a fun atmosphere, and amazing food. It is completetly walkable, so once you park you can explore the city on foot. I typically stay in an Airbnb in town, but there is also public parking available if you’re going for a day trip. You can also take an Uber from the airport if you are flying.

There is something for everyone in the city of Savannah. Whether you like boutique shopping, site seeing, or trying local cuisine, it has it all.

1. Explore River Street

River street is a historic cobblestone street running along the Savannah River. Full of shops, restaurants, rooftop bars, and antique buildings. You can easily spend an afternoon exploring this part of town.

2. Pizza at Vinnie Van GoGo’s

Looking for a quick lunch spot or afternoon snack? Head to Vinnie Van GoGo’s for a slice of pizza. The slices are massive, but you can also order a whole pizza.

3. Stroll through the park

Spanish moss, a magnificent fountain, street performers, what more could you want from a city park? Forsyth park is a must see when visiting Savannah. Enjoy a morning run, an afternoon stroll, or maybe just sit on a park bench to people watch.

5. Shop at the Paris Market

One of my favorite boutiques in Savannah, featuring decor and gifts. They also have a coffee and bake goods available!

6. Stroll Jones Street

I highly recommend taking some time to simply walk around the city. Jones Street is the most famous for its classic homes, although I personally enjoyed walking up and down many of the streets to look at the different homes. Savannah is also known for their twenty-two squares or parks throughout the city. The most notorious might be the Chippewa Square, also known as the Forrest Gump square, since the bus stop scenes were filmed there.

7. Visit the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist

8. Ice cream at Leopolds

A famous ice cream parlor that has been a staple in Savannah for over a hundred years. The line is often out the door, but I think it is well worth the wait!

9. E Shavers Bookstore

This charming little bookstore is cared for by loving employees and a few fury friends. You can pet a cat or two in between shopping for your next read.

10. Visit Wormsloe Historic Site

Located just 15 minutes outside of Savannah, the Wormsloe Historic Site features a long oak lined drive. This historic site features a museum and some colonial ruins. A beautiful drive and perfect for pictures. Whether you go for nature or history, it’s perfect add on to your Savannah trip.
